Our History
Happy Days Resort began as Krause’s Kozy Kottages in the late 1940’s. Minnie and Jule Krause built a house around 1948. They rented the house during the summer months.
Don and Donna Hansen were one of their first customers. Jule continued to build more rental cottages as well as other cottages around Pleasant lake. By the early 1960’s he had built 4 cottages. It was a family resort with many repeat customers including Don and Donna and family.
In 1975 the Krause’s decided it was time to retire. They told the Hansens, “You are the folks that should buy this place.” After much thought and figuring they purchased the resort in May of 1975. It was renamed Happy Days after the popular TV show. It has been in the family ever since.
